This is Dakky’s direct notice to parents, in the form required by the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). It describes what we collect from a child profile, why, and how a parent controls or deletes it. It is published here, and a parent can request a copy at any time by emailing privacy@dakky.app.
Who is asking
Dakky is operated by DEVINTRY SIA, registration number 43603092074, Jelgava, Latvia. The postal address for written correspondence is [Postal address — to be added by the founder]. Contact us about your child’s information at privacy@dakky.app.
What we collect from a child profile
Fields entered by you, the parent:
- First name or nickname — used to personalize routines and stories (for example, so a story can address your child by name).
- Age group — one of a small set of bands (for example, 3–4 or 6–8), used to keep story content and reading level appropriate.
- Story interests — short tags like “dinosaurs” or “space”, used to pick story themes.
- Default story options (optional) — if you save them, the character, setting, mood, and lesson you prefer for future stories.
We do not collect, and do not ask a child to enter: a birth date, a photo, a voice recording, precise location, an email address, a phone number, or any other contact information. A child cannot create or log in to an account — only a parent can.
Why we collect it
Solely to generate personalized bedtime routines, stories, and narration for your family. Nothing else. We do not use this information for advertising, we do not build behavioral profiles from it, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Who else sees it
The first name, age group, and interests are sent, as part of the story-generation prompt, to our AI vendors — OpenRouter (routing to Google’s Gemini models), Google, and OpenAI — under contracts with zero data retention: none of them store or train on this data beyond generating the response. No other processor (payments, email, hosting, analytics) receives child profile data. Our full list of processors is in the Privacy Policy, under “Service providers”.
How long we keep it
The child profile (name, age group, interests, and any saved default story options) is kept until you delete the profile or the account. Generated stories are kept until you delete them; narration audio is kept for 90 days after it was generated. The full schedule is in our written data retention policy.
Your rights as a parent
At any time, from the app or by emailing privacy@dakky.app, you can:
- Review the name, age group, and interests stored in a child profile.
- Update a child profile’s name, age group, or interests.
- Delete a child profile, which removes it and its stories from production systems immediately. Residual copies persist in database backups for up to 90 days before automatic expiry; backed-up media files do not yet expire automatically and are purged manually on request in the meantime.
- Refuse further collection by deleting the profile — this does not affect your own parent account, which you may keep and use for other child profiles or the routine features.
- Ask what we hold, in writing, about a specific child profile.
We do not condition a child’s participation in an activity on providing more information than is reasonably necessary for that activity — the routine and story features work with only the fields described above.
Consent
By creating a child profile, you (the parent or legal guardian) consent to this collection and use of your child’s information as described here and in the Privacy Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting the profile.
